Hill Country Montessori School has announced their Interim Head of School
Hill Country Montessori School is delighted to announce that Marie H. Kidd has graciously accepted the Board of Trustees’ invitation to serve as Interim Head of School for the 2025–26 academic year.
Marie was selected from a talented pool of candidates following a thoughtful and intentional search process. With over 30 years of educational leadership experience, including roles as Head of School at Trinity Episcopal School in Austin and, most recently, Interim Head at Trinity Episcopal School in Galveston, Marie brings a steady, mission-aligned presence to times of transition. Her reputation as a classroom-centered leader, effective communicator, and trusted mentor to faculty makes her an excellent match for Hill Country Montessori School during this important year. Marie brings a wealth of experience in child-centered learning models and has served on and led accreditation teams for independent schools throughout Texas and California. She also shares a deep respect for Montessori philosophy and is eager to learn from and partner with HCMS’s experienced and dedicated faculty.
Marie expressed her heartfelt enthusiasm about joining the HCMS community:
“One of the gifts of my long career in education is having served in diverse school settings that center on children as learners, explorers, and citizens. I am honored to join Hill Country Montessori School and look forward to building relationships, supporting the faculty and families, and ensuring a year of stability, joy, and meaningful progress.”
Please join us in warmly welcoming Marie Kidd to the Hill Country Montessori School family. We are excited about the leadership, care, and insight she will bring in the year ahead. We also extend our gratitude to Vicki Raney and Katherine Stuart from The Education Group, who will continue working closely with HCMS through the next phase of the search process to identify a permanent Head of School for 2026.
