Chatham Hall is located on a picturesque 365-acre campus in the Piedmont Region of Southern Virginia. The campus has a wonderful combination of historic buildings, green spaces and modern facilities. Visitors enter Pruden Hall and are immediately in “The Well,” a sweeping open staircase and entryway where the entire school community regularly gathers for assembly and announcements. The buildings of Pruden and Dabney, which house dorm rooms as well as classrooms, are connected by “The Arcade.”
Position
Chatham Hall seeks an inspiring and visionary leader to serve as its next Rector, beginning July 1, 2027. For more than 130 years, Chatham Hall has empowered young women to discover their unique powers and use them to make a meaningful difference in the world. Rooted in the Episcopal tradition on a 365-acre campus in Southern Virginia, the School combines academic excellence with leadership development, global engagement, wellness, athletics, the arts, and a vibrant residential experience.
The ideal candidate is a passionate advocate for girls' education, a visionary and strategic thinker, an exceptional communicator and storyteller, and a natural relationship-builder who connects with students, families, faculty, staff, alumnae, and donors. This leader will be a visible, engaged presence in the boarding school community and a compelling ambassador for Chatham Hall's mission.
