About the Leadership Taskforce
To cultivate strong school leaders who are well prepared and enthusiastic
about assuming the role of Head of School - This is the purpose of The
Education Group's recently developed leadership incentive. Guided by its
Taskforce for Leadership, tenured and recently appointed school heads, the
firm identifies administrative candidates and prepares them for both the
search process and the position.
Among the firm's activities:
- An ongoing survey of leadership issues
- A virtual newsletter targeting the "How to's . . .":
     1. Expectations for the head of school
     2. Dealing with search committees
     3. Time demands
     4. Candidacy presentation
     5. Avenues for pursing opportunities
     6. Expectations for head and family
- Regional workshops bringing candidates and practitioners together
- Mentoring of prospective administrators
As the nation's teacher resources experience significant decline so does
its pool of prospective and effective school administrators. The Education
Group's leadership incentive confronts this reality directly by identifying,
preparing, and guiding the next generation of independent school leaders.
